East Hokkaido Trail & Train

Monitor Tour

The "Trail & Train" walking campaign along the JR Senmo Line is a long trail project that allows you to enjoy walking through nature, or the trail itself. Take a walk on the way there to enjoy the scenery, and then take a train ride back. It's a new style of travel that can be enjoyed by both adults and children.

Participation for just one day is also welcome! If you are participating for just one day, please select the course you would like to participate in and indicate which day you would like to participate in the "Concerns" section.

① Mt. Shari foothills course
September 25th (Thu) - 26th (Fri)

9/25

  • Meeting time 11:30 @ Nakashari Station

  • Nakashari Station → Soba Restaurant Raiun → Raiun Shrine → Accommodation (Walking distance: 13.6km)

  • Disbanding around 16:00 @ Lodge Fukeiga *We will take you to the meeting point.

9/26

  • Meeting time: 9:00am @ Lodge Fukeiga

  • Accommodation → Hoshikaze-no-oka Hill → Satsugen Station (Walking distance: 13.6km)

  • Disbanding around 15:00 @ Sattsuru Station *We will provide transportation to the meeting point.

  • Meeting time 08:30 @ Biruwa Station

  • Biruwa Station → Kawayu Onsen Station → Atosanupuri → Kawayu Onsen (Walking distance: 15.4km)

  • Disband around 15:00 @ Kawayu Visitor Center

  • Meet at 08:30 @ Satsugen Station

  • Satsugen Station → Hoshikaze-no-oka HIll → Ipponmichi → Kiyosato-cho Station (Walking distance: 13.4km)

  • Disband around 16:00 @ Kiyosato-cho Station

  • Number of applicants: Approximately 10 people each

  • Participation fee: Free

    • However, participants are responsible for the arrangements and costs of transportation from their home to the meeting place, as well as the costs of lunch, food, drink, and shopping during the tour.

    • If you would like to stay for two days, please contact the secretariat.

Exchange meeting

The Hokkaido East Trail is a 410km walking route connecting three national parks and towns. Although it only opened in October 2024, it is already building a loyal following in the region.

We are exploring possibilities with the aim of creating tourism that brings happiness to the town.
To coincide with this monitor tour, we have planned a get-together with the local residents.
