Bear Spray Rental allows hikers on the Hokkaido East Trail to rent bear spray as needed. As the trail passes through brown bear habitat, proper preparation is essential. Pick-up and return are available at designated locations, with mail-in returns also supported for a safe and enjoyable hiking experience.

Bear Canister Rental allows hikers on the Hokkaido East Trail to rent a bear canister as needed. Proper food and scent-item storage is essential in brown bear habitat. Pick-up and return are available at designated locations, with returns accepted at the Kawayu Trail Office or by mail.
